A Study on Urban Stray Cat’s Dwelling based on Behavior Observation: Ourcat
When a relationship between a person and a person is called a love story, the relationship with the cat and a person is called a cat tie. Cats, which started with the tools to catch mice, has gradually become a pet and now as a companion animal, has become coexistence with humans.
However, society has ambivalence where we have to consider both sides, cat lovers and cat haters. It is vital to balance these two sides which seems extremely difficult. But if we can coexist with the start of small consideration, will we have great understanding each other ?
Applying geometric forms on object for changing public attitudes regarding urban stray cats and provide psychologically secure space with multi-dimension structure. A small but nevertheless important change can lead to have a better coexistence with great understanding.
사람과 사람 사이에 맺어지는 관계를 인연이라고 한다면 사람과 고양이와의 연은 묘연이라고 부른다. 쥐를 잡아주는 도구에서 시작된 고양이와의 묘연은 점차 애완동물로, 그리고 현재는 반려동물이라는 가족과 같은 개념으로 변화되었다. 사회에는 고양이를 좋아하는 사람들이 있는 만큼, 싫어하는 사람들 또한 존재한다. 이 두 가지 측면들을 균형 잡기란 결코 쉬운 일이 아닐 것이다. 본 작품은 이러한 상반된 입장들 속에서, 길고양이와 인간이 서로에게 호혜적인 관계로 나아갈 수 있을지에 대한 고민에서 시작되었다. 길고양이의 습성을 바탕으로 한 연구이며, 다각면적 구조를 통해 은신구조를 만들어 줌으로 심리적으로 편안함을 제공하고, 모듈적 방법을 이용하여 환경에 따라 다양한 형태로 변형 가능하다는 것을 의미하며, 필요 시 다수의 개체를 수월하게 수용할 수 있다. Color identity의 적용으로 무엇보다도 혐오스러운 길고양이 이미지를 조형적 형태 적용으로 인식의 변화를 이끌고 예술적 표현과 함께 가치를 바꿔주고자 한다.
